Physical Therapy Minimum Criteria for Review of Books, Software, and Multimedia

This list contains the minimum criteria that must be met before a book, software (including CD-ROMs), or a multimedia item (videotape or DVD) or can be considered for review in Physical Therapy:

1) The subject matter of the item must be relevant to physical therapist practice, education, or research. Books, software, or multimedia that discuss related subjects such as basic science and health care policy are acceptable.

2) The item must have a copyright date of the current or the preceding year (ie, in 2006, the Journal will publish reviews with a copyright date of 2005 or 2006).

3) The item should be in its published form; Physical Therapy will not accept prepress galleys or pre-release software.

4) All material, including software and videotapes, must have an ISBN number.

5) The material is, in the opinion of the Editor for Reviews or the Journal staff, readily available for purchase or examination.

Please note that these are minimum criteria; the fact that an item meets these criteria does not guarantee that the Journal will review the item. The Journal’s editorial staff and the Editor reserve the right to decline to review an item based on the degree of relevance of the subject matter to physical therapist practice or the general quality of the item.
